The derailleur's low-profile design helps it avoid blunt force impacts, while the unique wedge shape allows it to glance off trail obstacles. With the Shimano Shadow ES, it uses a slimmer, stronger evolution of Shimano’s pioneering chain-stabilising SHADOW concept.
Automatic Impact Recovery
When an impact happens, the rear derailleur features SHIMANO’s new automatic impact recovery function. This allows the derailleur to pivot away from the trail obstacle to lessen the force of the impact, and then it snaps right back into place.
Durability
Ready to take on the toughest trails, the rear derailleur is built with a wide-link structure, an alloy solid pulleys for added durability. It utilises SHIMANO’s new chain stabilising technology with a dual-spring design to reduce the chance of skipping or dropping your chain. This comes thanks to a higher chain tension for better chain wrap and retention.
Battery Protection
The XTR wireless Di2 derailleur is powered by a long-lasting rechargeable battery that’s tucked away inside the derailleur body. It is sealed off and very secure.
HollowTech II Cranks
Built for the rigors of the Enduro World Series racing, FC-M9220 is the strongest XTR crankset ever produced. HOLLOWTECH II forging and a thicker steel spindle ensure this crank survives the burliest of impacts while optimizing rigidity and weight. Offered in lengths from 160-175 mm and with all sizes of the reinforced SM-CR96 direct-mount chainring, there is a specification of FC-M9220 for every enduro rider.
A Shifter That Shifts Fast
The XTR M9250 SHIMANO RAPID ES shifter feels instantly natural out of the box, but can also be molded to fit any hand, thanks to its familiar fit and evolved adjustability design. Multiple shift modes, like hold-down multi-shift, tactile click-through double shift, or locked-out single shift, deliver precision, while a tube able third button allows for additional system tuning or third-party connection.
A Smooth Under Pressure Cassette
CS-M9200 represents the evolution of HYPERGLIDE+ shifting. New cassette cog tooth profiles improve shifting under high load while remaining smooth, fast, and durable. It is also MICRO SPLINE compatible, and built with steel, titanium, and alloy cogs to optimize weight and durability.
